Red Box Table
Hi Guys. I good friend of mine has sanded back a red box table that his wifes dad made. He would like to know what is the best finish to use. He has a young child so i durable finish is desirable.

Maybe Minwax Wipe On Poly satin with a coat of UBeaut Traditional wax over it. Durable and sexy! Or White Shellac??

Cabot's Danish Oil, easily rejuvenated in years to come with a quick sand and another coat. I have seen it used on timber counters in a hardware store, takes a pounding, but always looks good, esp after maintenance coats.
have a look here for an example on how to apply it to get a neat finish, but I would cut it back with Ubeaut EEE ultrashine, then do a few coats of Traditional Wax, but I am not sure how that would go on a table which is subjected to hot liquids and knocksregards,

I didn't even see the tree shape untill I took it off the lathe. The bit behind the trunk was bark and just fell off revealing the tree. I was so Happy.
