Heads Up Sturt School Weekend
Tools & Techniques Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 February
10am - 4pm FREE admission & parking
Sturt’s biggest annual event has everything for the aspiring or experienced woodworker. Browse displays and sales by Australia’s finest toolmakers including: HNT Gordon Classic Planes, Colen Clenton, Micheal Connor Woodwork, Jim Davey Planes & Sharpening, Japanese Tools, Chris Vesper Tools, Gifkins Dovetail Jig, specialist timber suppliers & a daily program of woodwork demonstrations by members of Studio Woodworkers Australia and Sturt’s own teaching staff.
The program of demonstrations 10.30am, 12noon and 2.30pm:
Saturday 16 February
10.30 Steve Harper and Aidan Morris - Using a small CNC router
12.00 Thirston Morris - A variety of joints for a blanket chest
2.30 Darren Oates - Laminating
Sunday 17 February
10.30 Phoebe Everill - Steam bending for Shaker style boxes
12.00 David Upfill-Brown - Relief carving
2.30 Leon Sadubin - Letter carving
Lunchtime garden concerts

One of the Southern Highlands most experienced classical trios with each member having considerable orchestral experience. For the Tools & Techniques weekend The Capricious Consort present a program of memorable classics from medieval to modern in the perfect setting of Sturt’s historic gardens.
