    Default This year's achievements.

I vowed I would be able to do the splits before I was 50. Close enough? (Sorry about the photo. I obviously didn't take it. :S )

    Any photoshop involved .

Seriously, congratulations TL, that's quite an achievement. Are you going for the legs behind the head next year?

I'd say the real achievement is doing it with a smile on your face!

Keeping limber is the ultimate when aging AM, we already know you exercise daily running around after . Bit hard turning like that isn't it might have to get a sit down lathe altered for you.

Now can you get back up thats the question.

    TL

    I am very impressed.

When I was a small child at school my best mate and I were in the gymnastic team. The primary difference between us was that he was naturally supple and I was the exact opposite. To give you some idea of his level of suppleness, he could easily sit in the sideways splits position. In fact he used to sit and watch TV in this pose. We used to joke that we could spin him around on his... oh, er don't worry about that one . On the other hand with me in the legs astride possie, you could not in your wildest imagination call it the splits, I could accomodate a billycart passing beneath me without incurring physical danger .

Just on the subject of increasing your ability to perform the splits, it is normally only the ligaments that restrict your leg movements so it very possible, as you have found, that you would be able to do increase your suppleness if you wish. However you must do it slowly over a longish period and be gentle (on yourself): Rough as you like with others!

Well done and all the best for the festive season.

    Regards

My mother was naturally flexible and I can remember her doing the splits in her seventies, yet I couldn't touch my toes without a great deal of warming up.
Well done TL, did you have to type in that position?
ps should have said it was like the ministry of funny walks with the rest of the family hobbling around after trying it.
    Cheers,
    Jim

    Well done.

Just one question does everyone have to wear the same outfit?

I dips me lid to your determination as well as ability.

If it was me I would require a big bloke on each leg but I would be in constant fear that one would call out to the other,
    "Make a wish."

As to all of the exercise bits and pieces - I tend to follow the thoughts in the pix.
