Default Can anyone tell me what sort of wood this is???

Sorry the pics are not great but I'm desperate to accurately identify exactly what sort of timber this is. I picked up a stack of old 4x4 dunnage timber from a place and once dressed turns out quite nice. It is very heavy, and extremely hard (also very well seasoned) I initially thought it was a jarrah but I'm not very good with my timbers. My 15" thicknesser has hated me for punishing it with this stuff but I would be greatful if someone can solve the mystery.

    Cheers

I have a few bits of a very similar bits of timber which I previously thought was maranti but
like yours is very heavy, to heavy to be maranti and would be interested to see what this turns out to be

Yeh, after looking at some pics of BB, it is a possibility, I've never worked with BB before so if it so is very hard and very heavy then it certainly could be. I don't think it is Maranti.

Hmmm think I'll go with the BB option until corrected.

    Cheers for the input.
