    Well. That's well over 2 hours of testing and the grand conclusion is.....

    IE9 is a dog the culprit and anyone using it should switch to Firefox immediately and save themselves a heap of hassles.

    There were an number of posts that didn't even make it into the thread because of crashes and lock ups caused by IE9.

    IE8 seemed to be OK but I didn't do the same tests with it, however most of the problems seem to have shown up after the IE9 upgrade, making it reasonable to assume that IE8 is fine.... Well, as fine as IE can be.

    I have edited some of the above posts to put explanatory notes in.

    If you haven't already noticed, my browser of choice is Firefox and in the years I have used it I can never remember having a problem with it that wasn't something of my own doing stupidity.
