Cleaning old paint off bricks
Hi all,
I am restoring a timber California bungalow and want to clean about 5 ancient layers of paint off the verandah brickwork. This seems to be taking a phenomenal amount of time... but may just be how it is. I have tried the wire brush which was useless, I've tried soaking the paintwork with 2 different types of paint stripper and then scraping and wire brushing, and lastly I got into it with a wire brush bit on the end of my big drill. This last method worked a bit but I have to be careful not to remove the mortar as well.
Even with the headphones on and Motorhead blaring this is going to take weeks. Can anyone offer suggestions (and not just in choice of music) on how I can get this done?
Cheers
