    Default Rosewood Keepsake Box

This box is made from Rosewood and has an elm burr veneer as the lid insert. The hinges, handle and mitre keys are all Rock Maple.
The inner tray has a pencil case and as this box is a present for my eldest grandaughter, her initials were inlaid in the lid.JBFront.JPGJBHinges.jpgJBLid.JPGJBOpen2.jpgJBTray.JPG

Lovely one, Ruddy. I like those hinges, they look so neat & crisp. Also the inlaid initials are nice & tidy. Love it.

    Thanks for the comments.
Vern, there have been a couple of posts on here about inlay.
Have a look at this one from Wongo where he made a beautiful box with inlaid leaves.

Also, AlexS had a post here on some inlay work he did on some doors. Just superb work to be admired.

Here they describe how you cut two pieces of the same thickness together on a scroll saw with the blade set at say 4 or 5 degrees.
    Hope this helps.
