    Question Starting Up

Im looking to build a table for my sister. Id like to use Buloke or Bull Oak for the table top. Can anyone here tell me how to get it? Seemed a little strange that some members were posting that it is a difficult timber to obtain, but then some other members are saying it is a weed tree.
It ll need to be shipped to the States as well.

    Thx

    Welcome to the forum.

I might suggest that you post a similar question in this sub-forum as not everyone looks in this forum.

G`day Bob and welcome to the forum, interesting choice of wood Bob according to Janka Hardness test the hardest timber in the world, stunning grain though, it might be hard to come by because it`s locked up in nature reserves I`m not sure as it is fond on the east coast, I`m from Western Australia and we have the unique Sheoak [Allocosuarina Fraseriana] just as stunning in its grain , also a hard wood,a few local suppliers and is world renown for its quality furniture pieces. The cost of shipping sizes for table tops to the US might be a shock to the system however considering the value of the Aus dollar and our national past-time of being ripped off for sending anything overseas. However I might be talking through my proverbial and it might be worth getting in contact with some reputable Aussie suppliers .

There are at least a half dozen trees that go by the name Bull Oak.
