With apologies to Gene Pitney!
I fought the saw and the saw won!
Was checking out the end of the last post for y deck on the table saw.
Guard of due to thickness of timber, momentary lapse of concentration. BINGO!!
Lacerated fingers and thumb on right hand. Chipped bone at base of thumb on top side,
cut both tendons. Two nights in hospital and forearm and wrist in half cast. At least two
months away from any use.
Beware!!!

Not good Artme .... momentary lapse of concentration is all it takes unfortunately and there are not many second chances. With any luck you will heal up and be good as new in a couple of months. Plenty of time to plan the next project.

Best wishes on your recovery back to full function artme.
Get well soon mate.
Like Sir Stinkalot has said .plenty of time to reflect on future happenings out in the workshop.
Artme thanks for posting this as a reminder to us all to be ever vigilant with our gear.
CheersJohnno

Hope you get better soon and the recovery is not too painful.
Unfortunately that's all it takes. Because of the medication I'm on there are days when I do not go near the workshop because I'm too tired to concentrate enough, especially in the afternoons.
At times that is a real bummer but then again Rome wasn't built in one day. A good reminder too remain careful.
Peter.

Oooh Art, I hate reading stories like this. I had a minor skirmish about six months ago. Not due to carelessness, but poor eyesight. Had to move the offcut which was vibrating towards the blade - it was in the out-of-focus range and i just clipped my thumb on the blade. It gave me the worst hit of adrenalin ever, and i felt physically sick for some hours after.
In the end it was only a minor wound worthy of a bandaid, nothing like what you've done. Wish you a speedy recovery.
Regards
Brett

Strange how when the guard comes off, someone gets injured. Maybe there is a lesson here.

After damaging my hand 8 weeks ago I swear it'd be better to break a bone than cut a tendon. Speedy recovery Art.

Yes I had a nagging feeling that I was wrong. Looked it up and yes, my feeling was right! Didn't get to post the correction as we had visitors arrive.
Bobby Fuller was part of agroup called "The Crickets"I think. Just wondering if they were the crickets that Buddy Holly had as his group?
