Smile Just hello to introduce myself

Hi, I'm Graham, living in Gosford NSW. I use shoemaker as my username as I once had a dream, unfulfilled, that my destination was to make shoes in a north coast NSW town. 20 yrs on, I'm still in my office job, tinkering in my shed, with a fantasy that I could be good with my hands, like in making things. I did buy some shoes in Bellingen, handmade there. They are so well made they have never worn out.

I'm not trained in woodwork. Right now, I'm thinking of how I can use that glass in the rusting Bunnings' outdoor setting, that was obviously not designed nor built for outdoor use. Thinking glass topped, round table, easily stored away.

Looking forward to help from the collected knowledge and experience of the Woodwork Forum.

    Cheers,

    shoemakergcl (Graham)

    Hi Graham

Interesting I see you've cobbled yourself, yet are willing to change tack, no good getting yourself into leather about it .....maybe Shoemaker was not quite right and its was race driving you were dreaming of moving in the fast lane and name should have been Schumacer

    Welcome and have fun.

Yep those glass tops either break and leave you with a rusty frame or frame rusts and .........you haven't stated a size of glass as I believe there are few different sizes. We have a small round one frosted type glass. I reckon a nice bit of Camphor slab routed out would do the trick a set of folding legs might do the trick.

Pop a note over in the woodwork general section and see what others may think.
