I have for some while advocated solar power, although I concede there are some problems. My contention was that every house is potentially a power station without the need to purchase extra land and build power lines.
In the same way new house have to have water storage perhaps they should also have generation capacity too.
Your picture demonstrates the potential .

Western Turkey, Greece and spain all have vast areas where solar hot water systems are the go. Puts our skiting in perspective.
Also interesting to note that in Spain solar power is now mandatory on all new buildings. No government subsidies apply.

Nice photo, Ive seen similar from Germany as well. And yes Im a confirmed solar power advocate who gets paid for having a system on my roof,
