    Default 73/thunderbird

Hi, this is my first try at a fair dinkum model, as in it has to look like the real thing, I copied it from photos, and the way that I worked it out it should be a 1/20th scale. of a 1973 Ford Thunderbird, the original car is brown with a white top so I've used Australian Red Cedar on the bottom and Cotton wood for the top, as is the bumpers and inlay for the side stripe and seats. the wheels are Black Gidgee with cottonwood centres plastic hub caps, the bonnet open to show a V/8 motor carved in Sapel.

It has a steel chassis with indepdent front suspension, and leaf springs on the rear, the base is of Sugar Pine with an apron of Blackwood to cover the bottom of the solar cells that power the head/tail/ and interior LED lights,( solar powered garden /pathway lights). The platform beneath the wheels is to stop the wheels from hanging down.C.D.

    Well done "Col's Dad".
How many hours did you put in on it?
Where did the plans come from?
    Keep up the good work.
    Cheers, crowie

There was no plans, I took photos of the car(owner imported it) printed them, enlarged it, and used that as a patern, got the spec's off the net.
Converted the mesurements to what I think is a 1/20th scale, I v'e been working on it for over three months not kept the hours but even at an hour a day ( some times four or five) it is over the hundred hour mark, than,Q for the request CD.
