Blackwood. Ok for food?

Fairly new to this woodworking hobby, quite addictive too I might ad!
I have access to some blackwood, but I have been reading all sorts of horror stories about how bad it is for you etc, although this appears more to be African blackwood rather than Australian Blackwood. From what I can find, it appears the dust is bad but I have been reading all sorts of posts with people making cutting boards, rolling pins tenderisers and all sets of products that come into contact with food.
From what'd have researched there isn't a great deal of info on Aussie B/W other than posts saying its bad. Im wondering what the story is, is it just the dust or any part of it better not to be close to food products at all? Can it be sealed?

From what I can find out, the only thing to worry about in Australian timbers regarding food safe is the natural flavours and smells.

I don't know what the official word is, but anecdotally my family has been eating fruit out of a couple of fruit bowls for the last 20 years that my father turned from a blackwood on our property, and no problems so far.

I have been making nd using cutting boards made from Tasmanian Blackwood for 40+ years, no one has died yet
