Metalworking notice board
Hi All,
I was wondering whether the idea of a dedicated notice board for the metalworking forum would be a good idea. I know some of the members (myself included) browse the entire forum, but many of the members who frequent the metalworking forums have no interest in woodworking and do not browse the rest of the forum. This isn't a problem, but i will use a group buy as an example. Someone wants to start a GB of X product. They ask permission etc and post it in the announcements section. They then wait and get 0 response. Why? because all the people who may be interested in the GB do not stray from the metalworking area of the forum. I know this is a woodworking forum that luckily has a metalworking section, and we are all thankful for that as many of us really appreciate it, but as i said, many members have no interest in woodworking at all.1915 17"x50" LeBlond heavy duty Lathe, 24" Queen city shaper, 1970's G Vernier FV.3.TO Universal Mill, 1958 Blohm HFS 6 surface grinder, 1942 Rivett 715 Lathe, 14"x40" Antrac Lathe, Startrite H225 Bandsaw, 1949 Hercus Camelback Drill press, 1947 Holbrook C10 Lathe.

Ewan,
The only thing that brought me here was your link in Mark's farewell thread. I seldom venture far from the metalworking forum.

After finding this post, I would like to see a dedicated metalwork notice board established Ueee.
The idea of group buys is one I would like to have a chance to be invovlved in too, I buy the majority of my tooling online. Being involved with a GB to save some coin or source a hard to get item would be a great asset.

Metalwork now has links on the Navigation Bar to - Activity Stream, New Posts and Quick Links. These should keep anyone who's interested informed on what's happening on the other forums.
The Metalwork Forums already has a Notice Board - It's called Metalwork Forum. However if what you want is a Metalwork Announcements Forum, that can be done, not really sure it's necessary. But it's now there.
