I walked in on a phone conversation SWMBO was having with what I assumed to be another south east Asian call centre. Intrigued I stopped and listened. Now the good lady, being astute and savvy in financial matters put the call on loudspeaker so that I could also hear the conversation.
Apparently it was a call from a firm called Money Saving Experts (on behalf of our Government) who spun her a story of overcharged bank fees of $3647 which are due to her. They wanted a postal address in order that the may process the claim and left a name and phone number (02 800XXXX ) for her to ring and speak to the "Claims Supervisor". They also wanted her mobile phone number. I don't know what her mobile no would have got them, she never answers it anyway!

I scrambled for Google and yes it confirmed that it was indeed a scam. Apparently they would next ask for a transfer fee and commission and well that's about that.
Well there goes the new lathe and a few new chucks and maybe and drum sander and perhaps.......
