Hello from Darwin
Hi,
I am Ari from Darwin. I am not a furniture maker/carpenter like most of you are, but I do like finishing wooden furniture. Since we live here in Darwin, I have to sand and finish our outdoor furniture very often. Things get very mouldy up here and unfortunately I have to do it more often than I would like .
Also, we decided to have a wooden deck for our entertainment area. I love wood and would love to learn more about the care and finish .
We have 5 acres outside of Darwin, so the care of wooden furniture is my responsibility, as my husband is busy elsewhere .
At the moment, I just bought myself a cheap mango wood dining table, which I would strip back and finish all over again. So, I thought I would read this forum before I start to make sure I have the right finish. And because I kept on reading, I thought I should join. Lots of information in this forum. Thank you to all of you.
Regards, Ari

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum Ari.
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for the most, very willing to assist.
Make sure you should off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.
Cheers, crowie

Welcome to the forum. I think you will find that most of the members are hobbiest and enjoy working with wood. Then there is the metal work section of this forum and other section.

Yeah, welcome Ari, you should be able to find plenty of info in the Finishing forum. This is a great forum for assistance and advice if you need it, dont hesitate to ask.
Cheers, Ian"The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot.. it can't be done.
If you deal with the lowest bidder it is well to add something for the risk you run.
And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better"
