Installing a door jamb/frame
Gday guys
So I need to install a door jamb/frame in the bathroom, so this is a wet area so timber species is important.
Question is how do I do it?
I have a door so far which is the original house door removed from the hall way, this is made from cedar I believe, it’s about 70 years old I’m guessing as the house is an old bungalow.
So obviously the jamb should be correct size for the door.
I guess I would like to know what the best method of mounting the door jamb to the brick wall? (Single brick wall)
Should I use plug and screw? Dyna bolt? Liquid nails? Is packing the jamb against the brick opening with wood ok if door jamb is a little too small for the opening?
Any advice would be great
Thanks guys
Bart
I should show some pics of the house you guys have helped me build ay
