G'day all
Just registered as VINTAGEWINDOWS cause that's my passion but my name is Fiona or Fi (fee).
I'm currently looking for a woodworking 'make and do' shed on the Gold Coast (southern end would be nice) that tolerates 'newbies' getting under foot. I have a garage full of rescued old casement and sash windows I want to turn into cafe furniture (coffee tables, menu boards for eg.) as an ongoing venture.
Does anyone know of a workspace available on the coast where I can work alongside of knowledgable craftsmen and women? What I lack in experience I make up for in entusiasm.
Failing that, would anyone know a retired woodworker/chippy/builder on the Gold Coast that is happy to work with recycled/salvaged wood and could take on some piece meal work?
Thanks in advance, Fi

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum Fi,
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for the most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo especially WIP photos with build notes.
have a look for a local "Mens Shed" Mens Sheds Men's Sheds AMSA Australian Men's Shed Asscociation for some of local assistance.
Enjoy your woodwork.
Enjoy the forum.
Cheers, crowie..
PS - There does seem to be quite a few members in the Gold Coast area so you should get a few more offering assistance with a point in the right direction.

Thank you crowie for the warm and speedy welcome. Followed the AMSA link and found four 'Men's Sheds' on the Gold Coast. Two within 3kms of home! Very helpful so thanks again for helping me clear that hurdle. Happy to post updates. WIP photos I can do. Build notes I can learn to do. The forum feels like a comfy chair already. Looking forward to the world of wood and the people in it. Hoping the "no question is a dumb question" philosophy applies.
Many thanks, Fi
