Removal of 3 walls (2 highly possible load bearing) and doorway creations
Hey all,
I was hoping to get a little help/outside opinions on the attached engineer report images and quotes. The house is a 1930s californian bungalow with double brick exterior and single brick interior walls. The work is removing 3 walls, 2 of which we believe are load bearing to some extent and creating a few doorways.
Attached are the bits of info - Engineer plan and Engineer info.
Below are the quotes prices;
Company 1 -
Entire job - $5950 + GST
Company 2 -
Entire job - $13420 + GST
What I would really like to know is - Is company 1 pricing it to cheap? and am I possibly going to get screwed. Or is company 2 just reaching a little high.
This is in the eastern part of Melbourne City around the Glenhuntley/Caulfield/Elstenwick areas.
Attachments (as I'm not sure how this site works for these);
Any additional info/expertise/opinions will be very appreciated.
Cheers!
