Default G'day, Google kept sending me here!!

Often Google wants me to read a thread on here when I'm searching so I thought I should join up. There are going to be people laugh at me for joining a woodwork forum after all the jokes I make about them!
I served my time as a Fitter and Turner and did some Toolmaking and now run the family farm. I have lots of metal machines in my farm workshop and a few woodworking ones in a shed here with several of a friends woodworking machines. I do like working with the stuff (Timber, not wood apparently), even if I can't weld it and it is hard to bend, just as well it grows on trees!!
I collect a bit of stuff like Fordson tractors, trucks and farm machinery. I have recently started collecting old metal and wood working machines, so I didn't have to sell the ones I've been using, and a few found me. I like running a flat belt!!
I am looking forward to making some things from the fallen redgum log we had milled from our place a few years back. My Kids are also getting to the age where they want to build things as well so I want to get them started out having a go and coping with making some mistakes on the way!!
Is it ok to share stuff ups, or learning experiences here?

Welcome to the forum. Share anything that you wish to. The forum is generally a friendly place. We all learn from our mistakes and sometimes we learn from others who make mistakes.

The better option would be to not make mistakes.

I should add there is a metal work section on this forum.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum Burner,
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for the most, very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo especially WIP photos with build notes.
    Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork; at least you should have agood size farm shed to spread out..
    Cheers, crowie
