tipper trailer
I'm thinking of building something. Do I need 'plans' for dimensions etc?

What size trailer, single axle/tandem?
Do want a hydraulic,manual/electric, ram under/front, winch manual/electric, rear/over centre pivot, manual over centre tipper?
Do you want a pipe/mesh cage around it, for furniture, bulky rubbish, canvas cover for camping etc.
What I would do is to have a look at various tipping trailers around take pics or sketches of details, there are some good designs and some shockers out there.
At the same time take note of construction, drawbar details, (size, thickness), frame work, smooth/chequer plate floor, thickness, etc.
Once you have all the details, then formulate a plan, using what you think is the best points from what information you have collected.

Ok, thanks KB... So that's yet another list that I'll need to compile, but you're right, it's all down to how well you research any project.
