4 or more bay shed
Hi guy's,
I am after some advice. I am looking at buying a new property, the land is massive (11 acres) it has a 2 bay shed plus a semi detatched garage. Unfortunately that is not enough shed space as I have 2 everyday cars plus 5 vehicles that I would like in a lock up garage.
I have asked a few places for quotes on sheds. I have asked for 12x6x2.7, they have both come back at around the 17 to 18k mark. Initially I thought this was massively over priced, but then the next one came in at around the same amount. So question #1 is it to much as an installed price.
The kits them-selves were in the order of 10k each, is that too high? I thought these types of things were cheap, like as in 10k installed type money. I did find some evidence to back my thinking up in the form of a PDF of a sale in either 2007 or 2009 stating 12x6x2.7 for like less than $5000. Has the price jumped that much in just 3 to 5 years?
#3 I have read the forum about WSS and the hassle people are having with the kits and the instructions. I design High Voltage Power Lines, but I am not a tradie, is the poor instructions something I have to worry about?
#4 Being that it is a rural type area that I am planning on installing the shed, should I move away from the colourbond type "pretty" shed and move towards designing and building a rural shed, you know treated timber poles, concrete foundations and good old fashion over enginering and then clad in some corogated sheets? The reason I suggest that is, it's really easy to add on to in the future and it would probably be cheaper and easier than what I have read about colourbond style sheds.
