Default G'day from the mid north coast

    Hi, my name is Michela,

I recently inherited my dad's tools. There are various hand and motorised tools from bench saws, mean looking routers, to his beautiful carving tools which when I was a little girl my dad would wrap his hand over mine to teach me how to carve. Although I've watched him build and restore most of my childhood, and I have some experience with various power tools, I'll be learning from scratch. He also left me all his wood working books and encyclopaedia, so I have some good reference points.

I have several projects in mind.
first up, I want to make a small wooden box. Then Sand and revarnish/stain a 60's dining table, sand and stain our red cedar French doors, build timber fly screens for the French doors, we are also restoring a vintage caravan. So you can see that I plan to put all these beautiful tools to good use.

This is a great forum and I look forward to connecting with you.

    Welcome Michela,
I think your dad would be very proud and pleased that his tools will continue to shape and create objects for the family.
Don't forget to include plenty of pics in your works in progress threads,
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Michela what a wonderful legacy may it grow and have you spend many hours enjoying and remembering with a heart filled joy.

Now us old blokes do like to see photos so how about some of your work etc. Or even some of your dad's.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Thank you all for such a warm welcome.
My dad built quite a bit of furniture for the home, and restored a few old pieces. I have actual photos that will need to be scanned. He was an amateur, though a very passionate wood worker.
I spent several days sorting out the garage, I'm really pleased with it. I'll post photos soon.
