Value of Sequoia
Hi woodworkers,
As payment for a job, I was given some Sequoia boards which i was going to make a dining table from.
I dont have enough room (or time to be realistic) to attempt such a project and i cant store it, so the timber has to go.
The trouble is im not sure about a "fair price" to ask.
Boards were air dried and finished (albeit a bit roughly), and are 21 mm thick.
a few are a bit knotty but most are have reasonable grain .
1 at 195mm width and 1250mm length
3 at 180mm width and 2100mm length
1 at 180mm width and 2200mm length
1 at 180mm width and 2000mm length
1 at 165mm width and 2100mm length
1 at 165mm width and 2000mm length
1 at 165mm width and 1500mm length
1 at 160mm width and 1500mm length
1 at 135mm width and 1700mm length
Various smaller bits.
Attached are some photos.
Any help on what i should price the lot at would be greatly appreciated.

Gday, i assume its locally grown sequoira, and there edge to edge slabs from a trunk less than 200mm . better left in the ground for another 100 years. but im no expert, good luck, Rossco

Hi there Rossco,
Yes it was locally grown, and yes i too wish they had left it in the ground for a few more centuries.
But hopefully it will become something special.
