Default How do I respray outdoor furniture

Hi all. I want to respray some outdoor furniture - 4 chairs and a table. It'll be the first large thing I've spray painted, and I'm wondering what I should be using in terms of both equipment and paint type.

The furniture is made from treated pine, some parts epoxy coated, then all brush-painted with white acrylic housepaint. This was done about 3 years ago, so its not quite flaking yet but definitely getting old. Its very close to the sea and gets a fair bit of salt spray.

    I have:
a small compressor (its a bit underpowered but it just means I need to be patient)
    an hvlp gun (1.4mm setup)
    several suction pot guns
a Wagner airless spray gun, with acrylic and enamel nozzles.

I was thinking of just spraying acrylic housepaint using the Wagner - but I have tried this briefly with the suction pot guns and it wasnt brilliant, main problem was overspray and hence paint consumption. So I'm wondering if there is a better way ? Can I use the hvlp gun with acrylic ? Is there some other coating that is easier to spray but still good for outdoors ?

    cheers

    Hi Aaron,
I painted the entire outside of my house using a Wagner and enamel a few years ago then went on to paint my mates 80 X 40 shed using acrylic. Easy to mask windows and arcs with a sheet of cardboard. We tried both and it worked a treat and far better than using a compressor (save for the odd blocked nozzle). Furthermore I managed to avoid the outdoor furniture on both jobs.
Appreciate you are dealing with a different subject but for what its worth.
    Good luck
