Anyway. once again welcome and looking forward to some pics of your work.

thanks cookie,
hey they were cruel to lefties in the old days eh! i remember a mate from primary school used to get a real hard time from the teachers about being left handed, made him quite self conscious of it even out of school hours, poor bugger. as a young person up to my mid twenties i could use both hands pretty much as well as each other (one of those freaks!), so i can empathise a bit, been using my right side now for so long i'm not that good on my left, can still use a hand saw both sides and if i have to a few other tools (i think lol), used to do it a bit when cutting out roofs or in awkward spaces, didnt give it a second thought really.
i cant quite remember who they were at the moment but i know i had a lefty or two working for me at times, it does present some difficulties for them and for others so it takes a little adaption..most hand tools work either way, some power tools are designed for righties which makes it harder (if not down right awkward) for lefties to use, also when you set up a jig its usually made for righties. in a workplace environment it can be difficult at times because a setter out marks everything from left to right usually allowing for saw cut spacings etc on the right side of the line, a lefty has to know that and work a little awkward, but they manage. sometimes if i was marking out specifically for a lefty i would do it back the front, upside down or on the opposite side of the timber so it was quicker and easier for them, can be a bit of head ..umm teaser for people to do that sometimes which is why i guess that old teacher had his, shall we say narrow view i didnt mind the variety in setting out back the front sometimes or perhaps i was just motivated to do anything to get the job finished quicker
