Relocating windows...
Hi all, I have a question relating to a couple of windows I want to shift a few hundred mm sideways. As you can see in the attached pic, there is a threaded rod in the way of the new window location. Can I move this further, just to the right of the new window position? Or is there standards which determine the max distance between these steel rods? If so can I just install an extra rod on the left of the new window location? The other window I want to shift is in the bedroom but basically same as the attached pic (bathroom).
One other thing, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming these rods are to tie down the top plate to the floor joist? The pic taken is from the 2nd level.
