    Default The Ants.

    Hi to you all,
    I have a problem.
I have a Toyota Hiace Van, & whenever I go to check Water & Oil, I have to clear away these Small Black Ants. As far as I'm aware, they have there for quite some time.
Question is, how to get rid of them?
You would have thought that the Heat of the Motor, may have got rid of them, but no, they are still there.

" The Lady Of The House " used The Van just recently, put her goodies on the Floor, Passenger Side. Just as She was about to begin Her journey, looks down & Her goodies were almost covered in The Ants.
Lifted & sprayed, gone were that lot, but I suspect there are plenty more.
    So what should one do.
    Regards,
    issatree.

    Default Ants

I get ants around the door of my old Ute and lots of other places on the vehicle. I just 'spray' ant poison powder around these areas and the ants disappear within a very short time and don't return for months.

You must have a stash of dirt somewhere in there! Although they don't need much to live in. Had a nest between two bits of wood once! Surface spray everywhere?

Hi Lewis, Sprinkle some Mortein ant sand, they will be either dead or gone in an hour or so. John.

Just think of them as an upmarket accessory. I know someone who had them in their Jaguar.

Treat them like you would the ants in the house. Watch for their trail and place a few drops of "rid ant" or "dead ant" in the way. Keep doing that until the ants do not reappear. It may take two or three days.

Ants are a very structured society and, in their own way, very clean. They clean up any dead ants: By eating them! Consequently any poisoned ants that die in the nest are eaten and those ants die too. The cycle goes on until too many ants die and the community can no longer function.

    In short they are stuffed!

The insecticide I am referring to comes in a small plastic bottle and only costs a few dollars. It is normally only recommended for use in the house but the car (even under the bonnet) would qualify too.
