Balustrade Timber?
Hopefully I'm in the right forum?
Morning All I am wondering what would be the best timber to use on outdoor balustrade around one third of my decking The decking in parts is over a meter off the ground and I have a 90 year old wondering the decking The balustrade will be of simple design i.e one top rail, one lower rail ,one center support (spans are 3500 mm and above ) and two beams at 45degrees to center support. I was thinking pine or hardwood. Timber will be lacquered
Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard,
See here -
www.timber.net.au - The Australian Database of Timber - Handrails & Balustrades (Exterior)
There's a PDF for free download at the bottom of the page called 'Timber Information Bulletin 2 - Handrails and Balustrades' which is quite good.
Cheers
