    its not pine

    its a conifer

is it sequoiadendron or sequoia sempervirens

as they are quite different in their use/ability for timber one can build a house and the other cant

As for price.... where is that piece of string?

Hi, Im not saying im the final word on this but is close to or a sister to Cal. redwood which is as common as muck in Western U.S., used a bottom plate in framing { 30 years ago} decking timber, and still heavily logged. Bit harder than W.R.Cedar, but still soft for furniture , but old growth and Burl is valued and a cottage industry in Nor Cal and the North west, Cheers Rossco. Novelty timber but pales in comparison to our native timbers

Are you hoping to use it for furniture? If so, I agree with woodsurfer that it is too soft and dings and dents way too easily.
