Are 2400 x 1200 mdf sheets exactly that?
Hi,
If you buy, for example, a 2400 x 1200 or 2400 x 900 sheet of mdf at Bunnings are the measurements exact or is there a little extra?
I'm trying to work out how many panels I can get from a full sheet but I know I will lose a few mm each cut. Just wondering if there's any generosity in the sheet measurements?
Anyone know? Thanks for any insight.

............depends, some sheets are the "metric" size ie 2400x1200mm, and some sheets are the old "imperial" size, ie 8'x4' which is really 2440x1220mm.
Some manufacturers use one, some the other.

Take your tape measure with you.
That will answer your question.

As Big Shed said it depends on the manufacturer or if imported or not. Can't be sure of the "green shed".

Zefgirl. Big chain stores give "nothing" away, so there is very little chance you will get more than you asked for.
However if the size is quoted, 2400 X 1200, then that is what you should expect to purchase and nothing less.
As I said, take your tape measure and check.
Common saw blades run about 2.5 m cut. If that helps.
