    As nice as nostalgia is we cant go back and there are now a few generations of well trained, dedicated consumers that will determine our future. We are now an economy not in a society locked in a battle with the rest of the globe for economic survival. Unfortunately a lot of our GDP relies on generating waste. And GDP is what counts to our pollies.

    Personally I dont miss the sixties, being the only wog kid in an anglo school when the white Awstraylya policy was unravelling had its moments.

    Yep Auskart I get what you are saying. I'm a child of the 50's and I believe they were greener. However I believe they were greener because of the waste of the two world wars which preceded the 50's, so green equalled austerity. They weren't good times for me or my family but they were greener.
