Need some 100x12 flat offcuts in Brisbane
Thought I would try one last time in here before resorting to buying new steel - has anyone in Brisbane got some 90/100mm wide x 12mm or thicker flat bar offcuts - I need 2 pieces at 100mm long or so to make some Ferguson 35 Tractor sleeve pulling pads - the engine has an 87 mm bore.
PM if you maybe have something laying around at work or home that might do the job.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I would try your local steel place for an off cut, or you local welding shop for the same.

The time & expense incurred looking for free pieces would most likely make a
new piece look cheap.

I don't think you will get it free, my local steel place has an off cuts corner and they just charge a few bucks depending on what you want. It then goes in for beer money for all the boys. I usually find it's about 60-80% off the normal price.

Thanks for your suggestions - looks like I have found some usable steel thanks to a helpful member of the forum.
