I've got some time off at the moment and so far have had at least 2 of those calls every day at home. Now , when my phone shows the incoming number as 'overseas' I just answer and hang up before they say anything.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

    Thumbs down

Why do they always call at evening meal time, just as SWMBO has placed the hot meal on the table and as I am pouring my first (or third) glass of red?? Don't they eat in bloody India, or Pakistania??

Cause evening meal time is the most likely time that most people will be home and hence answer their phone. I'm sure they plan the time of the call in advance depending on the country/state you're in. India and Pakistan are well situated to call Australia - when it's 7pm on the Eastern seaboard it's 2:30pm in India.

Actually, your TV is a two way device and they are monitoring it all the time. This way, they can tell the most auspicious time to ring you. I know this is true - I read it in a book

    Richard,

It doesn't work if you put a large foilie on top of the TV, and it also helps if you're eating pancakes. Don't know why but I also read it in a book.

Oh, I thought I had to put a foilie on the cat and then get him to eat pancakes. No wonder it wasn't working
