Robin Hood had lived a full life and now his time on this mortal coil was near the end. He was laid out on his death bed in a small cottage in Nottingham forest with all his followers around him. Friar Tuck was giving him his pastoral rights when he suddenly propped himself up on one elbow and called out to Little John. "Give me my bow and the straighest arrow you have my old friend - here is my last request...(gasping for breath)"
"Merry Men...where ever this arrow lands...is where I want to be burried."
With all his might and every last ounce of strength Robin pulled back on the bowstring and let loose at the very instant he past away.
So that is why, you see Robin Hood was burried on top of the wardrobe.
