    Default larger size text

How can I permanently increase the text size.

All dialogue boxes are in very small text, web pages are the same
outlook is very small ( the text size in Outlook view is greyed out )
I have to keep increasing the size by ctrl and mouse button. OR via the
magnification bottom right, but it keeps changing from page to page.

The puzzling part is when I highlight a row of text in an email page and click the text size it seems like it only increases half size. IE I click size 36 but it only looks half that. AS an example all the text on this page are size 8

    Thanks

Try the Ctrl and + key, that's what I use. Ctrl and - brings it back..

If the issue is accross all programs you might be better to get into Start/Control Panel/ Display/Settings/Advanced and adjust the screen DPI setting. The normal value is 96DPI, and the drop down box would have options for Large 120DPI and Custom.

Large is about 25% bigger than Normal.

Another option at the Display/Settings level is to reduce screen resolution one or two steps.

Yep, what Mal said, control panel, Display, click on "Set custom text size" and click on the little triangle for the drop down options to appear and select a larger size,, 160% or whatever you may be able to select that is larger than the default largest option of 150%
    Reality is no background music.

If you are looking at the internet on a web browser, hold down Shift, and move the wheel on your mouse to change text size. Similarly for most Microsoft products

    Thanks for that.

it was the screen resolution so far 1152 seems to be comfortable but I will try others untill I get it right.

    Thank You
