G'day
Hi Everyone,
I'm Marty from Melbourne, Upwey to be more specific.
I've discovered a love of woodworking and have begun to teach myself the craft, I am a scientist by trade and wood is only a hobby at this stage.
I have no particular preference to a particular skill at the moment, I intend on trying most things, using both hand and power tools. I think finishing is currently my most enjoyable part of woodworking, I really love the feel of smooth wood....
I have plans to convert the garage into a workshop and maybe join the Knox woodworkers. I have grand plans to build a workbench along the lines of Groggy.....
I guess the main problem living in Melbourne is sourcing good wood cheap.... any ideas here would be great.
I look forward to spending more time on these forums
Cheers
Marty

Welcome to the forum Marty. I am sure a post will get you plenty of info on sourcing timber in your area. Its a good idea to join a club. What sort of scientist? Cheers

Welcome to the forum. As most of us on this forum are here to enjoy the craft and take time in doing that. Groggy is a very good example.
