Just used first three letters of first name and surname. Didn't realise at first it sounded like something out of the Waltons.

When I wanted a user name I searched long and hard on who to emulate on this board. I finally chose the name of Sturdee after who was arguably the most important soldier in the history of this, my adopted, country.

    He is described as
a kindly, humble and simple man who carried out his work with the minimum of fuss'.

Sturdee's sheer professionalism earned him the trust of politicians of all parties. His steadfastness in the anxious months that followed Japan's entry into the war had won him widespread admiration, and he was described as 'the rock on which the army, and indeed the government rested during the weeks of panic in early 1942'.

His resolute insistence that the A.I.F. divisions intended for operations in the Far East should return to Australia helped to ensure that troops were available to halt the Japanese advance in Papua.
In other words the qualities I would like to use on this board.

BTW I was guided in my search by looking out of the window and seeing his name on a sign attached to a street lamp.

I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Realised I'd screwed up after I posted it. Still Jambur would sound like a Geordie's snack.

I just used a user-name I had for another (astronomy) forum in an attempt to reduce the number of user-names I had to remember.
Didn't really work as you still have to remember the different passwords.
