Ford Falcon XY GTHO.... At Bathurst, Australia.
Three laps of the greatest race track in the Southern Hemisphere (Mt Panorama at Bathurst, Australia) in the greatest car to ever race on that track - the mighty Ford Falcon XY GTHO.
I don't care if you are a Holden "nut" or a Ford fan ... this is awesome - the sound is
just brilliant. 9 minutes of good old Aussie grunt !!
During the race, you will see some old and very old classic racers -
including a 1957 Ford Customline - see if you can pick it.
MUST have sound.....turned WAY up & select full screen.

Blue one about the 5:50 mark I think.
Amazing number of old Cortinas.
Who woulda thought - HR Holden hanging on to third when he passed it - an Afa in second and ???? leading.
I drove that circuit in the 70's in a Holden HG Premier with marshmallow suspension. Took nearly 10 minutes.
SG.... some old things are lovely

I was sitting in Cairns having a coffee this morning & I heard that sound go past on Mulgrave Road out the door behind me, I spun around just in time to see one flash past.

Coincidentally I was just going through some old slides I took of these vehicles at a Bathurst race sometime in the early 70's.
I've never been a car 'nut' but still remember the sound of these going down Conrod.Geoff

In car cameras don't do justice to Bathurst, coming down the dipper at that speed would be plain scary. Thanks for sharing the vid

Ahhggg!... Mine froze just when he got onto the tail of that sandstone E38 Charger... Surely he gets him down Conrod on the 2nd lap...
Felt a bit like "Bullit", with a couple of cylinders and doors more or less, here and there...
Nice Find Cliff!

i did a hot lap with Moffat in 1984 in the RX-7 over the hill, for a person from country Queensland, and with the top speed i had ever experenced was a 100, and 35 in the steiger 8X4. i did (insert word here) myself on the second bend on the way back down, and showed what i had for lunch when i stopped in pit lane. LOVED EVERY BIT OF IT. what a rush

Probably the heyday of Bathurst. All classes running. Pit crews and drivers with no engineers on computers telling the driver what to do.
Bum on seat driving listening to the car and wringing everything out of it.
Ah, memories.
