Freecut is a name given to abrasive that has the white surface (stearate). It is a no fill or no clog type abrasive.

Have a look at the ones on this page U-Beaut Polishes - SANDING DISKS the top one is a SIndot abrasive - very aggressive, long lasting and pretty well impossible to clog.

The other two are stearate or freecut type abrasives again reasonably aggressive compared to regular abrasive, extremely long lasting and much harder to clog.

The first of them is called double dot but has what appears to be clouds of abrasive in a pattern the other is a solid abrasive with a stearate coating.

Most of the white stuff you buy will be freecut although I think the name "freecut" may be a tradename of Norton that is just being used as a generalisation for the white stearate coated paper.

    Cheers - Neil
