Default English Oak Table- finish options?

    Hi,
I stumbled across this website and have learnt so much reading the posts, but am still a bit unsure of my options for a finish for an English Oak drawer top table.

Beeswax was my first thought but wondering if there might be a more durable option that would do the table justice. The table is 100yrs+ and for the last 60yrs has sat on an enclosed verandah and is fairly weathered. The top isn't too bad, and has some of the old finish still there. Legs are very 'dry' looking.

I'm planning on sanding the legs back and maybe just using steelwool on the top. Not sure whether I need to remove the finish off the top before I tackle it?

Hope someone might be able to point me in the right direction!

    Default Oak finish

    Hi Angela
Remove the old coating and oil with the Livos Ardvos universal wood oil. It is completely plant based, penetrating so it does not leave an artificial plastic coat on top. The natural oil wax resin mix hardens to a soft lustre. The clear oil will really bring out the colour of the timber. good luck.
