Hi all,
I've just been going through the forum and happened upon the section on reputation. I always wondered what the coloured dot next to your name meant. Unfortunately I've discovered I have a red dot next to my username, which means someone had given me negative points for something I had done. At the bottom of my User CP I can only see one positive feedback. Therefore I'm feeling a little miffed and somewhat disappointed that I use these forums with a negative reputation.
To me, if you've done something wrong by someone, you should be able have the right to be able to rectify what you've done wrong, and make amends by apologising to the person who you've offended. At this stage I don't know what I've done wrong and to whom. I know I can sometimes be forthright with my opinions so I'm now going to take this opportunity to apologise for whatever I've done. This apology comes unreserved and without condition because this forum has been an invaluable resource for me and there appears to be many fantastic and talented people roaming these forums.
Saying this, giving someone a slap on the wrist (or whatever it maybe) under complete anonymity is somewhat disingenuous to what is trying to be achieved. I sincerely hope this post can change this.
Thanks for reading - Scott Taylor.

Scott, I think you may be reading the incorrectly. you have a fair bar of green dots on the right hand side under your post count that indicates you have a fairly healthy reputation.
You should also be able to see who gave you a "Reddie" by going to the user CP tab in the banner above and clcking on it.
Don't take it to heart, some see it as a badge of honor.

You have your online status hidden ..... normally when you are online it is green, if you are offline it is empty. I think you get red (only you can see) if you are online but your status is hidden.
For me I get Geoff being online, you being offline (but you may be online and hidden). Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.

You could have done worse, like cut something too short by 100mm.

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but they
bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs .

I'm an ICU nurse, imagine if I cut something 100mm too short?
Ta for your understanding, especially those who have given my reputation a nudge. I feel very humble and silly at the moment.

Pheeeew! I am glad the RED dot mystery is cleared up.
I would have red dots all over the place if the Mods And Admin were handing them outBack To Car Building & All The Sawdust.

I thought the green dots were your signal strength or your credit rating.
