I've said little. I am so desensitized by moose and eagle and bear carvings, the Galapagos tortoise is not something that I'd think of at all. Further, the quality of the work is something that chainsaw carvers (and clients) here in the Pacific North West need to see. They can do better in fit and finish, far beyond the drippy orange spar varnish.
Mind you, softwoods are easily come by here, hardwoods are rather exotic. That's an excuse, not a reason.
Thanks for the upgrade in my education.
