    Default Maturity

I think we've all had brushes with the authorities on our way home from the odd soiree over the years, but being older and smarter, Mrs. Wood and I have done something about it: Last night we went out for a few quiet drinks and ended up having a few loud ones too.

Knowing full well we were wasted, we did something we've never done before: We took a bus home. What's more, we arrived home safely and without incident which was a quite a surprise really since Mrs. Wood has never driven a bus before.

Which reminds me ... last night I caught a bus.

    They are heavy aren't they?

Just a bit heavier than catching a tennis ball.

I think this is the same point at which the Americans invoke the 5th. Whatever that might be.

There are 6 bottles of Whisky in an imperial gallon but only 5 in an American gallon, hence the 5th in American literature.
