    Default Finish Recommendations

Hi all, I have been working on some relief carving in MDF and I am wondering what is a good finish for MDF. The carvings I have created I have stained with a mixture of Acrylic paint and linseed oil mixed together. I'm not sure if that will affect the selected finish. I was thinking shellac might be good, but, as I am new to finishing I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have attached a couple of images - the size of the wall plaques are 280mm diameter

I am guessing a little here but sealing the MDF would be my intention. So something that will not soak into the MDF and not water based. That been said a poly or two part epoxy. Maybe others have a better understanding.
