Bulk buying sandpaperm for turning?
I do seem to get through a fair amount of costly sandpaper in my endevours to obtain a great finish. Yes I sand on slow speed and starting 80 to 120 grit, going in order to finish with 400 grit plus. Where do you lot get your paper and do you buy in bulk?
I look forward to your responses.

Hi Richard,
I get all my sandpaper from a panel beater - smash repair supplier. It seems to be quite a bit cheaper to buy, and lasts a lot longer as well. I buy it in their packet or box sizes, and it stores for ever if I don't use it all at once.
To give you an idea of the price, a box of 50 150mm round 80 grit discs for my random orbit sander cost $25.00. These are hook and loop with dust holes punched, and they work well and last a long time.
regards,
John

You bet I buy my adrasives in bulk.
If you are buying the stuff from the hardware I'm not surprised you think its expensive.
If you are just using flat paper in pieces, buy a roll each of your favorite grits. It might hurt a bit to start but the economies are realy there.
Check out abrasives in the yellow pages.
