Hello from Portugal
Hello,
My real name is Rui and I leave in Lagoa Portugal.
I found this forum when looking for workbench plans, as I’m planning to do my own bench.
I really like to work with wood, and I got addicted by spending hours watching a friend restoring old furniture. He is a big artist doing it.
I did already a few things myself, and I’ll post it latter.
The construction was in the easiest way, but the idea is to learn and improve my skills.
I’m setting up my little work place in a 3x3 meter space I have in my garage.
I got a few tools and last weekend just had a great present from my stepfather.
My present was 2 very nice Mortise chisels’ of 8 and 10mm, something that is really hard to find in a shop around here.
They were not use for more than 30 years, and in the same day I give them a nice restore. (I’ll post them also)
I have 26 boards of oak + 50 boards of chestnut (I think is that name in english) to build my workbench.
I can’t find the vises here in Portugal, and the bench dogs, but if anyone knows where to get them at a good price let me know please.
Nice to be here and hope I’ll have some time to post the work I’ll be doing and get some advice from you.
Thanks a lot and see you soon.
Regards
