Natural Teak oil on a matt estapol
Hi Have just been advised that the best result for my table top (meranti) would be 4 coats of Wattyl matt estapol followed by rubbing in a Natural Teak oil. Does this sound reasonable? Another suggestion was simply 3 or 4 coats of Cabothane satin clear varnish. Would appreciate any comments on either of these finishes. Or other possibilities?

Teak oil on Estapol
I regularly use satin estapol and rub it beck with varying grades of wet and dry using teal oil as a lubricant.Over two or three coats I get to about 1200 and find that when the estapol flattens out the paper will tend to stick. However it gives a finsish that seems to be as hard as blazes and you will find it hard to dent with a finger nail. I only use it on items that are likely to suffer a bit of wear and teat such as jewellery boxes tabel tops etc. Hope it helps.
