    .

Not at all, said daughter is but 21 years old, has a couple of degrees and still studying, one of them is a B Sc majoring in Neuroscience (a subject in which she achieved a perfect score) so she's a fair dinkum expert in things relating to the brain, and was the one that introduced me to the Foil Beanie site in the first place.

(We share a similar interest in all things!)

She was particularly concerned that no alien mongrel would steal all our happy thoughts on the day!

    Cheers,

    Midge,

Lovely photo, the foily suits you.

Just one question if I may? Al, the grand foil master and Grand Puba of the foily order, only wears a silver one so why are you wearing a gold one?

    Bit Queenslandish is it?

    Peter,

No Aluminium is the ONLY material that can be guaranteed to work all the time!! It's just a trick of the light that makes it look gold, but it is very much a proper aluminium one!!

(Of course the shape is a little flasher than the normal one, because of the occasion.)

    Cheers,

    P

    Rocker,

Happy to relate that this photo, and shots either side of it on the digital
    "roll" have not been retouched.

They WERE however taken by a pro called "Rob" (I think his mother might have been an alien, judging by his hair)

    Cheers,

Your comment that the photograph was not retouched in my opinion rasises a very valid point.

In these days of digital photography I think all photographs should have a caption added to the effect stating: Manipulated or Unmanipulated. In fact I think it should be almost an international law?

    Interesting point.
The Port Fairy Tourist Info Centre has a photo of the 12 apostles with a nice sunset behind them. (Apparently the sun must have set in the north that evening.) And none of the tourist centre workers were even aware of it!!!!

    Yep, a fabuloso day...
No, Rob is a friend of my eldest (a photographer) and did the honours for us, just a whacky bloke who fits in pretty well round here! (and a pretty good fashion photographer to boot!)

    Cheers,

Most digital photos are manipulated in some way, for instance the shots above have been reduced to 72 dpi from an original "neg" from a 12 megapixal camera.

We have about 400 shots from the day, and even the better ones may get a small amount of doctoring, a sharpening or softening here or there or at least a crop.

Photos taken by me usually need a good deal more though!

Unless the image has had additional additons or subtractions like removing something from the background or adding an object into the composition, I don't think it is any different to using filters, advanced darkroom techniques or even hand colouring in the old days>

    Cheers,

P (Consider this thread well and truly hijacked now!)
