A wooden box
Hi all,
I happened to be at AFT about 6 weeks ago and spotted two bits of African Rosewood which showed sap and heartwood. I thought they would make an interesting box and so bought both pieces. There is actually enough for two boxes. So I've decided to make a document box and a desk box as a matching pair.
This is the end result of the document box. I had some regular African Rosewood, which I have used for the top panel. But the thing I really like and which wasn't obvious until I planed the board, is the delicate black spalting. (see pic 2) I believe there's more on the remaining board.
The box is approx 330 x 230 x 95mm and is finished with Organoil HBO wet sanded to 4000g.
Hope you like it.
The second box will be a desk box
Regards,
Rob

Well done!
What incredible colouring!
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
Regards, Woodwould.
